Verdict: The Cosori Pro Gen 2 CP168-AF is the older straightforward 5.8-quart option for a US buyer who prefers a detachable inner/outer basket assembly and manual controls. The TurboBlaze is the more relevant alternative if low-temperature programmes and DC airflow matter. Compare the current exact-model offer and replacement parts rather than assuming a larger preset count means better cooking.

CP168-AF and the recalled CP158-AF are different codes. Always check the complete rating label against the official recall notice; the similar five-point-eight-quart description is not a recall lookup.

One cooking zone, two nested basket parts
The inner food basket detaches from the outer collecting basket for serving or cleaning. That is not a dual-zone design: both components belong to one cooking space. The handle attaches to the inner basket, so only use the release button when the assembly is supported on a level heat-resistant surface, as the manual instructs.
This construction differs from a crisper-plate-only basket. Check replacement-part availability for the complete CP168-AF identity. A similar Max XL basket or matching capacity does not prove compatibility.
Who is the 5.8-quart size for?
It is a medium-large single-batch class. Cosori’s three-to-five-person positioning is not a guarantee that a full main and side for five people fits without crowding. Breaded food depends on flat space; loose fries can need shaking or smaller batches. We have not measured this basket’s usable floor area.
If foods need different temperatures or finishing times, choose a compatible one-basket meal, use batches, or consider independent zones. Thirteen preset shortcuts do not solve that separate timing problem.
Pro Gen 2 versus TurboBlaze
Standard TurboBlaze extends the published range down to 90°F and up to 450°F and uses programme-linked DC fan speeds. Pro Gen 2’s published range is narrower. That is a useful function distinction, especially for buyers interested in proofing or dehydrating.
Cosori uses CP168 as the comparison product behind its TurboBlaze speed claim. We have not reproduced that test or measured running costs, so we do not promise that changing machines saves a specific number of minutes or units of electricity.
Cleaning and materials
The manufacturer manual describes aluminium basket parts with nonstick coating, with PFOA/BPA-free claims. Those terms do not establish a universal PFAS-free ceramic surface. Do not copy the current TurboBlaze coating description to this older model.
Cool the basket assembly before separating and cleaning it. Follow the manual’s dishwasher instructions and use a non-abrasive sponge. Never immerse the electrical housing or scrape a damaged coating with metal tools.

Questions before buying
Is CP168-AF the same as CP158-AF?
No. Read the complete label and use the regulator/manufacturer recall process for any affected unit. This page does not certify every used appliance as safe.
Does recipe access mean Wi-Fi control?
No. The manual’s VeSync invitation is for recipe content; it does not establish smart appliance control on CP168-AF.
Is current manufacturer stock guaranteed?
No. The official product page was marked sold out when checked. Marketplace availability and seller warranty must be checked separately; we do not show a stale price or stock promise.

Clara Bennett checked the manufacturer material and exact US identities on October 24, 2026. This is a specification-led assessment, not a hands-on cooking, noise or energy test. Manufacturer speed and serving claims are not independent test results. Current stock, prices, warranty and accessories must be checked for the actual regional offer.
